p. 197: Barbequed Shrimp

I’m not exactly sure why this is called “Barbecued Shrimp.”  There’s nothing barbecued about it. Here’s the recipe. You decide:

1 stick butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh garlic
1 lbs raw shrimp; shells on
1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
1 12-oz bottle darkish beer
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
Crusty bread, for serving

Melt half the butter with the garlic in a large pan over medium heat. Add the shrimp and Old Bay and cook, stirring, until the shrimp are pink.

Add the remaining butter, the beer, Worcestershire, and lemon juice and heat through.

Serve in bowls so you can dip the warm crusty bread.

See? No reason for it to be classified as barbecued. I’m not saying it wasn’t good…just not barbecued!
